This session on Artificial Intelligence and Deception is an effort by GISPP (Global Information Security Society for Professionals of Pakistan) and it was Presented by Cybersecurity lab, COMSATS . Speaker's Profile: Dr. Muhammed Masoom Alam is leading Cybersec Lab at COMSATS University Islamabad. Beside research publications and funded projects, he is an expert in making industrial collaborations. In this regard, his lab collaboration with Trillium Infosec has won APICTA Security Innovation Award 2016, PASHA Security Innovation Award 2016 and ICT Innovation Award 2016. His lab joint venture with Trillium InfoSec has resulted in a product T-eye which is accredited by IBM. Linkedin : https://www.linkedin.com/in/masoom-alam-68123513/ Abstract: In this talk, Dr. Masoom will present the desperate need of Artificial Intelligence enabled Counter Intelligence and Deception in Cyber security. He will explain the three essential components of Deception: Believability, Subtleness and Manipulation/Emulation of an environment. While the deception is highly effective strategy, the setup, integration, deployment and its information analysis is very complex and, efforts are time consuming. The Security Professionals have introduced Artificial intelligence in deception to reduce this complexity and the results are unprecedented and show the humongous potential of AI enabled Deception in Cybersecurity. He will also discuss that by introducing Artificial intelligence to enhance these factors has brought deception to a whole new level of effectiveness in industrial practices/projects and how the SOC has been evolved by these practices. Undergraduate and Graduate students are encouraged to attend this talk as he will also take a look at future unexplored potential of AI enabled deception.
